President Donald Trump on Monday told a CBS News reporter that the war against Iran could be over soon. "I think the war is very complete, pretty much," Trump said, according to Weijia Jiang, CBS's senior White House correspondent.
"We agreed to stay in close contact," Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said about his call with U.S. President Donald Trump.
The US president says Iran war will be over "pretty quickly" but Washington hasn't "won enough" yet.
President Trump said Monday during a Congressional GOP event that the Iran War was a "short-term excursion," after telling a CBS reporter earlier that "the war is very complete."
At a Miami-area news conference Monday, President Trump said he expects the war in Iran to end "very soon," but also called it "the beginning of building a new country."
Trump says the U.S. military campaign still has further to go, while Iran's foreign minister rejects the possibility of talks with U.S.
President Trump posted on Truth Social that he plans to hold a press conference at 5:30 pm, after a previously scheduled appearance at a GOP fundraising event hosted by Speaker Johnson. Presumably, the top subject will be the war in Iran.
